A MESSAGE FROM DON ON THE JUNE 15 PATHFINDER HUNT

I haven't got all the results yet, except I know that two found the
repeator. Okay, there were three transmitters running, two mini Tee's and one
running about .5 watts. The repeator was hidden at the top of Mountain Av. in
Clarmont. On a access road gate was a mini T, this was triggering the
repeator from it's close location, but could only be heard when close by it.
This was T 1. The repeator didn't need to be found (all sign in sheets said
such). To find the repeator a short hike up the side of a hill was necessary,
WB6ADC and KD6LOR/ME did this. They signed in at 10:38pm. The other two were
in the Estelle Mt. area. The 5mw. T was able to be heard in Monrovia, 34.5
miles away. This T was connected to a J-pole stuck in the ground just off a
dirt road way. The high powered T was running .5 watts to a 15 element beam
horizontaly polarized. This was on a dirt road just east of Estelle Mt. This
T was also bringing up the repeator. The 5mw T did so spuriously. All T's
were IDed the same. I did this so that all t hunters had the same chance of
locating the T's as those who are able to read code and can sometimes tell
the difference by being able to read the difference in id's. The repeator
made it seem like there were more than 3 T's, but beleive me there were only
3. Thanks for those that came out, and no thanks for those that are whuses MI
being one. MI was heard through the repeator making comments, but not able to
come out. (too few t's or not out of bounds?)

KF6GQ and KD6LAJ

I now have the results.

No one found any of the transmitters, but Clarke signed into the repeator with 34.1 miles, KD6LOR and KK6ME found the repeator also but failed to sign in a mileage. So we declare WB6ADC the winner.
