The first transmitter was located near Yucaipa, it ran 20mW to a three element beam laying on the ground. The signal was weakly heard at the start point and again at Green River, apart from that there were not many places where it was audible. Most teams drove right on by and ended up in Twenty Nine Palms where they had to decide what to do next. N6AIN must of got a bad bearing at the start because he went to the Cahoun Pass and then to Big Bear finally heading South down Highway 38 where he eventually acquired the signal.

There was one anxious moment for the hiders as they were crossing the 10 freeway around 11:30 Saturday morning. They were commenting what bad luck it would be if a hunter was to come along just as they were on the overpass when N6MI was spotted approaching. As far as can be determined it seems that he did not see us otherwise a trip to Twenty Nine Palms would be unlikely

The second Transmitter was hidden in the hills around Reche Canyon in an area that is currently being prepared for new housing development. This transmitter was on 147.585.

There were two more transmitters which nobody found so their locations will not be given out so that they can be used again in the future.

All teams found the first two transmitters.
