Hiders: Mike K6SNE and David N6IDF
The trick for this hide was to reconstruct the '05 February All Day
Hunt that Dave and I hid, but no one seemed to be able to finish.
"Find Me" - North T: This T went dead and failed to start. We kicked
it and it still wouldn't start. So the exact location of this T will stay
a secret and may resurface in the future.
"Find Me" - West T was Found by Don GQ & Steve LAJ, and Dave DWL &
Mike MJU. It was placed up a small draw on a dirt road about 2.5 miles West of Converse Station/Seven Oaks.
"No Place Fast"- North T was found by Daryl AIN, Don GQ & Steve LAJ,
and Dave DWL & Mike MJU. It was a SquawkBox and a 3-element yagi pointed
south directly across the canyon to a spot above Jenks Lake. It was placed
about 2.5 miles East of Converse Station on the same dirt road as the " Find-Me"
- West T. This T was identifying with SNE's patented and rather
annoying "Curly Code".
"No Place Fast"- South T was found by Daryl AIN, Dave DWL & Mike MJU,
N6JF & KG6TES, Don GQ & Steve LAJ, and Bob JPI. This T was a SquawkBox with
a small whip and was located about 100ft into the woods Just above Jenks
Lake. This was also identifying with "Curly Code".
The "Yard T" was found by Dave DWL & Mike MJU, Don GQ & Steve LAJ,
and Daryl AIN. This T was placed in David's (IDF) front yard in Yucaipa. It
was running variable power levels and was pointed directly at the Big
Bear/San Gorgonio Mountains. This T was meant to bring the hunters to the
feedbag.
The "Fake Rock" T was under a big fake rock in David's
yard. It was SqawkBox and was found by Dave DWL & Mike MJU,
Don GQ & Steve LAJ, and Daryl AIN.
The "Sticker Bush" T was placed next to the road near the intersection
of Oak Glen & Wild Wood Canyon in Oak Glen. It was a SquawkBox and was
found by Don GQ & Steve LAJ, N6JF & KG6TES, and Daryl AIN.
